Her Parents Want To Take Every Penny Of Her Paychecks From Her First Full-Time Job, Even Though They Make More Than $200,000 A Year

However, she pointed out how she planned to use her paychecks for her loans. She also wanted to save up for school before going back.

Yet, her parents just accused her of obsessing over money and being selfish– which they said was not healthy.

“And they said I should just give them my money and, if I need any, I can ask for some,” she recalled.

“They also said they would just pay the loans with the money in their accounts– which would then have my money in it if I gave it to them.”

Still, she just did not want to do that. Of course, she plans to contribute to the bills and expenses now that she is working full-time. But she doesn’t want to just fork over the entirety of every single paycheck.

According to her, it’s not like her parents really need the money, either. Instead, they actually make over $200,000 combined each year. Their only problem is that they are horrible at managing their finances.

So, she thinks that her parents would just spend her paychecks on even more random stuff– leaving her with no funds to use for her loans or school applications. Well, at least without her parents holding it over her head.

“And my salary isn’t enough for me to live on my own once I start paying my loans since the cost of living in my state is higher,” she said.

“But I, at least, would feel better knowing I would have some money if I needed it.”

Regardless, ever since hearing her parents out, she is starting to think that they might have a point since she is living in their house rent-free.

“So a part of me thinks they’re right, but I don’t know if it’s just from hearing their guilt trips and pressure,” she vented.
