He did say all of this in front of his daughter, and his wife and daughter are now really angry with him.
His wife honestly believes he was trying to put his daughter down. Meanwhile, his daughter understands the point he was trying to get across; she just wishes he didn’t say it out loud.
The thing is, he really is just concerned about his daughter destroying her life by having an inflated ego.
“I have seen how people can ruin their lives over thinking they are ‘gifted’ and it going to their head, so I just wanted to caution her about that,” he added.
He’s left wondering if it was wrong of him to tell his daughter that although she is intelligent, she is not gifted after all.
