When She Told Her Landlord She And Her Boyfriend Were Moving Out, He Asked For The Secret Camera He Hid In Their Apartment Back

In 2017, she and her boyfriend moved in together.
Like in many places, rent had been increasing for years in their home country. After researching, they made the decision to emigrate to a country that borders their home country because the rent was much more affordable in the border country.
After several months of apartment hunting, they finally found a great place to rent.
“It used to be an old hay attic of a farm, but a rich couple (the landlord and his wife) turned the attic into an apartment years ago and turned the rest of the house into a home for themselves,” she explained.
When she and her boyfriend first moved in, things went well. They got along with the landlord and his wife but felt like they were kind of strange.
However, the living situation quickly took a turn for the worse.
Annoyingly, the landlord played loud music all night long. Also, if she and her boyfriend needed to have something in their apartment fixed, the landlord would come over at 2 a.m.
“He constantly bragged about how he kicked out the previous tenants after they told him that the rent was too high. When rats infested our roof/ceiling and created holes that went straight outside, he’d use expanding foam to kill them (trapping the rats in the process, which led to them dying and decomposing in the ceiling),” she continued.
The landlord’s horrific behavior escalated even further. On multiple occasions, he’d knock on their door for several minutes, and when they didn’t answer, he’d stand right outside their window and yell their names. It was as if he thought they were home but ignoring him on purpose.

If that wasn’t enough, the landlord even entered their apartment without getting their permission first.
When this happened, she had just arrived home and was sweaty, so she walked into the bathroom, which was located to the left of their apartment entrance.
“When I came out wrapped in a towel and walked towards the living room, he suddenly came through the front door. I asked him what he was doing here, and he told me he left his key in our house after a visit, even though he used that key to get in,” she said.
Later on, the landlord was in the process of moving to Poland. The new landlord was a jerk, so she and her boyfriend chose to move out.
When they informed the new landlord that they’d be moving, he responded by saying, “‘Well, can you give me back my camera then?'”
At first, she and her boyfriend thought he was kidding. However, they felt uncomfortable after the conversation ended, so they decided to look around their apartment for a camera.
In their apartment, there was a high ceiling, and they needed a ladder to reach it. When they looked, they found a small camera positioned on a high horizontal beam pointed directly toward their living room.
Apparently, when they looked at their phones and the Wi-Fi networks available, they saw a network called “‘cam network,'” and it disappeared off the list once her boyfriend cut the camera wire.
Once she and her boyfriend moved out, they debated about whether or not they should press charges, but they ultimately decided against it because they learned that their previous landlord had a good lawyer and had already moved away.
However, she and her boyfriend hadn’t seen the end of their former landlord.
According to their new neighbors, a man who had the same man as their former landlord was on their street in their new neighborhood, and he was looking for them.
What would you have done if you were in her shoes?
