She Encountered A Freaky Man On An Escalator When She And Her Friend Went To The Mall, And Then He Started Following Them
When you were a teenager and wanted to go to the mall with your friends, did your parents give you a strict set of rules to follow before you went?
One teenager was told by her mother to be safe in her local mall parking lot recently, but she encountered a strange individual inside instead.
She’s a 15-year-old and has a friend that’s 17. They recently decided to have a day out together. They went to a movie and wanted to go to the nearby mall afterward.
When she told her mom their plan, her mom advised her to walk as quickly as possible from the movie theater to the mall.
“We were in a dangerous neighborhood, and we knew my mom’s rules,” she said.
“Don’t stop to give people money, and always be looking up.”
She and her friend followed her mom’s rules after the movie and safely made it inside the mall.
“We thought that that would be the dangerous part, and that part was over, so we went on with our day,” she remembered.
“We were pretty careful around strangers.”

They walked all around the mall and were on the escalators multiple times. However, there was one trip on the escalators in particular that freaked them out. They were heading towards a downstairs escalator after eating at the food court when she heard someone whispering behind them. She turned around and saw a creepy-looking man following them.
He was skinny, had long hair and a beard, and had a freaky expression on his face. It was somewhere between a smile and a frown, and it was enough to make her very uncomfortable.
They got onto the escalator, and she noticed the man was still following them. He slowly started making his way down the escalator’s steps until he stopped on the step right on top of her and her friend.
She and her friend looked at each other and froze there momentarily, unsure of what to do about this man invading their personal space. They tried taking a few steps forward, but he would follow them every time. Once they reached the escalator’s end, she and her friend started racing away from the man as quickly as possible. But, terrifyingly, he continued to follow them.
They ran into the first store they saw and thought it was the last they would see of him. Then, she looked out the store window and saw that the man was staring at them with the same creepy expression as he walked away.
Thankfully, they didn’t see him again for the rest of their trip, but their interaction with him is keeping them on high alert from now on.
“We shook it off, but now, whenever we’re in a public place, we walk a little bit faster to get where we’re going,” she added.
