In 2020, this woman was 18 years old and lived in a pretty safe town.

However, the country she’s from has a lot of crime.

Tragically, her father passed away in early 2020.

She was an only child, so after her father died, it was just her and her mother living in their home.

During this time, Covid lockdowns were being enforced, but some protocols were slowly being lifted, so employees were going back to work in person.

There was an empty field centered between her house and some train tracks where she was able to find some peace and solitude whenever she needed to get some fresh air.

Once each day, she would sit in the field while she smoked one or two cigarettes, and once in a while, she’d have a picnic.

Since the loss of her father was painful and difficult, she needed a place to get away. But because of the lockdowns due to the pandemic, this field was her only option.

One day, she was in the field, smoking as usual.

“I was about halfway through my cigarette when I noticed a young man walking along the train tracks on the opposite side of the field. He was barefoot and wearing dirty, worn-out clothes. He noticed me and made a hand gesture, suggesting that he was asking for a smoke. I should have just left, but, as a teenager, I found it difficult to say no to people,” she said.

She agreed, crossing through the field to where the man was standing so that she could give him a cigarette.

The man took the cigarette from her, and right away, she felt uncomfortable with the look he was giving her.

“He asked me: ‘Don’t you live in that house over there?’ and pointed at my house. I avoided answering the question, and at this point, I realized that I needed to leave. I had left from my front gate that day. For him to know where I lived, he must have watched me leave from the back gate before. I told him I needed to get going. He started insisting on giving me a hug to say thank you, and I declined several times,” she explained.

Then, she turned away from the man and began to walk away.

After only just a few steps, the man rushed after her and put his arm around her waist.

She was terrified and started to panic, not knowing how to escape him.

The only thought going through her mind was that she had to get free from him and as far away as possible.

In order to do this, she attempted to run away, but as he was still behind her, he grabbed her.

After that, he tried to drag her in the direction of a row of houses that were out of view from the street.

“The fences were high, too, so no one could see the field from their backyards. We were completely isolated. I was kicking and struggling, desperate to get out of his grasp. He ended up throwing me on the ground, with him on top of me, still holding on. In a split second, my life flashed before my eyes. That feeling that something terrible was going to happen came over me. I couldn’t escape–he was too strong. My arms were trapped by his, and he was holding me down so I couldn’t kick him. I did the only thing left to do, and I started screaming for help,” she shared.

At that moment, she realized that she could move around because the man had panicked and released her.

He jumped off from on top of her and raced off. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest, and her entire body was shaking.

Understandably, she was in complete disbelief.

The man ran off onto the opposite side of the railroad tracks, toward the industrial area of town, and she lost sight of him.

After he was gone, she stood up and started running to the street. Once she got there, she saw that there weren’t any cars in any of her neighbors’ driveways, meaning that no one was around for the attack.

It obviously scared her to realize that no one heard her screams, and if the man had taken note that there wasn’t anyone home in any of the nearby houses, things could have ended in a horrific way.

Rightfully, she was petrified that this man would come back since he knew which house she lived in.

Over the next several months, she had constant nightmares and panic attacks. She struggled to get out of the house without having a breakdown.

A year later, she moved out of this house, but she still feels nervous when she’s home by herself or taking a walk through her hometown.

Luckily, she never saw this man again, and she hopes that she never does.
