His Baby Mama Convinced Him To Sign Away The House He Owned Despite His Current Girlfriend’s Warnings
Have you ever had someone try and get you to sign any documents or papers in hopes of tricking you into giving away or buying something?
One man’s baby mama recently convinced him to sign away the house he owned despite his current girlfriend’s warnings.
He shares a son with his ex, whom he refers to as his ‘baby mama.’ She’s been living in a home with their son, whom she takes care of on weekdays. The home’s mortgage was in her name, while his name was on the house’s deed.
However, things have changed after she lost her job three months ago.
After becoming unemployed, his baby mama had him sign a piece of paper that stated he no longer lived at her address so she could get assistance.
“My girlfriend, who works in child support, says that she’s trying to put me on child support,” he said.
“[My baby mama] had always said she’d never do that, but then my girlfriend showed me the statues, and I ran this by [my baby mama]. She said she withdrew the application when she found out.”
Then, a few weeks later, his baby mama asked him to take his name off the deed so she could get mortgage assistance. His girlfriend was wary of that idea and warned him against doing it, as something seemed off.
However, he ignored his girlfriend’s advice and signed all the documents anyway.

Later, his girlfriend noticed they got an email from the Department of Social Services that stated he had an important notice from them coming for him in the mail.
As this progressed, his girlfriend did more research and discovered that his baby mama must’ve been up to no good, as he didn’t have to be off the deed for her to get mortgage assistance.
His girlfriend told him to call the Department of Social Services immediately before signing anything else.
“I called the Department of Social Services back and found that [my baby mama] deliberately went and submitted the child support application. [My] girlfriend tells me to stop all contact with BM and that this is now a legal issue,” he recalled.
“None of this was consistent with what I knew about [my baby mama]. I called [my baby mama], and she admitted to everything but said she didn’t know about not having to have me off the deed.”
“She said she is only using public assistance until next week and then revoking the child support case.”
As he tried to explain that he doesn’t have to be off the house’s deed for her to get help, his baby mama became very defensive, so he succumbed to her attitude and signed over the house despite all the red flags.
“My girlfriend argued that I shouldn’t [have] given up the only asset that may help pay off the child support one day,” he added.
“I asked my family and coworkers, and they disagreed, saying trusting her is my best option and that it’d be best to sign over the deed to keep the peace.”
“My girlfriend said my baby mama controls me and that I am spineless, and that I had no reason to give away the only asset I had.”
Since he signed over the house, things have been really tense between him and his girlfriend, as she feels betrayed and accused him of putting his baby mama’s needs over their financial security.
