She Was Unexpectedly Invited To Her Ex-Boyfriend’s Wedding, But She’s Refusing To Attend Because He’s Actually Marrying Her Best Friend

Two years ago, this 26-year-old woman and her now ex-boyfriend, Mark, 28, broke up after dating for three years.
Luckily, their breakup was mutual, and they ended on good terms.
They ended their relationship because they grew distant over time and had different life goals.
Last month, she was shocked to receive a wedding invitation from Mark.
She was even more stunned when she realized that he was getting married to her best friend, Sarah, 25.
Several months after she and Mark broke up, she introduced Mark to Sarah.
They were in a relationship for a little more than a year before getting engaged.
“Sarah and I have been best friends since high school, and she’s been by my side through thick and thin. We’ve shared all our secrets, hopes, and dreams. I had also confided in her about my lingering feelings for Mark, even after our breakup. She reassured me that my feelings were normal and would eventually fade away, which they did to a certain extent,” she said.
When she saw the wedding invitation, she was upset and in disbelief.

In her opinion, Sarah should have spoken to her before deciding to marry Mark since she knew the background of how she still had feelings for Mark after the breakup.
“I understand that love is unpredictable and that they’re both adults capable of making their choices, but I can’t help but feel betrayed,” she explained.
Later, she talked to Sarah about her concerns, but Sarah didn’t try to understand her perspective.
During their conversation, Sarah told her that her past relationship with Mark was just that–in the past.
Then, Sarah assured her that she and Mark truly love one another.
“She hoped I could be happy for them. She also pointed out that I had dated other people since Mark, and I was no longer in love with him,” she shared.
After their talk, she made the choice not to go to the wedding because she wanted to prioritize her own emotions as well as her former relationship with Mark and her friendship with Sarah.
In her view, this was the best decision because she wanted Mark and Sarah to be comfortable on one of the most important days of their lives, and she thought that if she attended their wedding, that could cause some awkwardness.
She wished both of them the best in their marriage and explained her choice not to go to their wedding.
After she explained the situation to some of her friends and family, everyone had different opinions. Some of her loved ones think she made the correct decision because it could have been uncomfortable if she attended the wedding.
But others told her that she wasn’t being a good friend to Sarah by skipping the wedding. In their view, she came off as unsupportive toward one of the most significant friends in her life.
