She Was Offered $200,000 For Her Purebred Doberman Puppy By A Random Guy And Turned Down The Exorbitant Amount Of Cash

If someone offered you a massive amount of money for your dog, would you give it to them?
This is the question a TikTok user asked her followers after her husband was asked to sell their purebred puppy to a random man for $200,000. Some of the answers were surprising.
Alexis Elliott (@itsalexiselliott) is a lifestyle TikTok content creator who makes a lot of videos with her adorable Doberman puppy, Remi.
Alexis is in love with Remi and often jokes about “birthing her” since she feels more like her baby than her pet. Many of us dog owners know how that feels!
Alexis and her husband were recently shocked after a random man who saw Alexis’ husband with Remi asked if they’d be willing to sell Remi to him for $200,000.
Alexis and her husband knew there was no way they’d ever sell their dog because of how much they love her, but the situation made Alexis want to see how her TikTok viewers felt about it.
“I would not sell her,” says Alexis in her video.
“But it just got me thinking. I wonder if people would’ve taken that $200k?”
While many people in Alexis’ comments section agreed with her and seconded that they’d never sell their beloved pups for any money, some more interesting comments were left on her video.

“Honestly, yes,” commented one user. “200k would change my life.”
Other commenters responded to Alexis and other users who said they wouldn’t sell their dogs for that much money by accusing them of being privileged and assuming they must not have lived through any kind of financial struggle.
These kinds of comments prompted Alexis to make some follow-up videos. After one commenter tried to point out irony by reminding Alexis that someone had sold Remi to her,
Alexis showed her viewers the extensive 32-question application she had to fill out before purchasing Remi from a reputable and ethical breeder.
She also showed the contract she signed for her breeder, which stated that if she ever needed to re-home Remi, she must give her back to the breeder instead of selling her or placing her in a shelter.
Alexis also defended her decision by telling her viewers that even if she needed the $200,000 or wanted to accept that amount of money, she wouldn’t feel comfortable selling her dog to a stranger, not knowing what that stranger was capable of doing.
She doesn’t trust anyone, even some of her closest relatives, to take proper care of her dog besides herself and her husband.
Alexis made one of her last statements on her video about the offer for her dog after a commenter said her video was “mindless” and “emotionally vapid.”
“The video meant no harm,” says Alexis.
Alexis explains that her video was more to prove how some extremely wealthy people are sometimes willing to spend a large amount of money at the drop of a hat.
“People are sometimes just willing to spend a lot of money on things [because] people are dumb, desperate, or lazy,” she says.
“However, that doesn’t mean I’m out of touch with reality. Just because I personally would not give up my dog for money does not mean that I don’t understand that a lot of people would to help themselves get out of really bad situations.”
What do you think of Alexis’ video?
