A Neighborhood Boy Used To Follow Her, Attacked Her For Ignoring Him, And Even Showed Up On Her Property One Night, But No One Believed Her

Between the ages of 13 and 18, this 30-year-old woman lived in a tiny neighborhood, and she had a scary experience with a neighbor when she was about 15-years-old. When she wasn’t busy with school, she took walks through her neighborhood while listening to music on her MP3 player.
A boy who was about her age lived a few houses down. She heard through the grapevine that he was homeschooled and spent time off and on in a juvenile detention center because he had problems with aggression.
Whenever she went on walks, she always saw the boy out in his yard. Every time she’d walk past his home, he would follow several feet behind her. Safety was a priority for her, even as a young girl, so she was careful to turn her music down and ensure she could hear anything around her. Upon reflection, she should have been more careful to avoid him.
But at the time, she made the false assumption that he was just going on walks, too, coincidentally at the same time she was.
“As time passed, he got closer and closer to me when following, until he eventually decided to come up right behind me. He said some truly heinous things that I will not repeat. I mean, he was right in my ear when he was talking,” she said.
Terrified, she raced home to inform her sister, who took care of her and was a parental figure to her. Unfortunately, her sister didn’t believe her and called her a liar, scolding her for inventing a story that didn’t really happen.
After that, she didn’t feel comfortable going on walks anymore. Two months after the incident with her neighbor, she was desperately in need of a walk outside to stretch her legs, so she decided to try taking a walk again.
Just like before, her neighbor followed her when she walked by his house, and he taunted her with horrible things like he’d done before. She blasted the music in her headphones and did her best to pay him no mind, and this scenario played out each day for a while.
“He got tired of me ignoring him, I guess, because one day, he grabbed my arm, and I couldn’t get away. Then, he grabbed the back of my neck and told me that I should ‘know better’ than to ignore him,” she explained.

Once more, she informed her sister of what happened, but her sister was still convinced she wasn’t telling her the truth. So, she once again refrained from her daily walks. Two weeks after her neighbor attacked and threatened her, she awoke in the middle of the night to an insanely loud banging noise on her bedroom wall.
“There was a garage on both sides of the house, and the wall of my bedroom shared a wall with one of the garages. This garage was unfinished. There wasn’t even concrete down, and it was easily accessible from outside, as it was missing the door at the back of the house,” she shared.
At the time, her sister wasn’t home because she was out of town. Their father was deaf and bedridden, so she couldn’t rely on anyone else in the house to help her. Her room had a door that led directly outside, so she raced over to lock it. After that, she lay in bed and hoped that the noise would eventually end, but it continued.
Luckily, her cousin and her cousin’s boyfriend lived nearby on the same street, so she called her cousin, who asked her boyfriend to go over and investigate. A few minutes later, her cousin’s boyfriend drove into her backyard and up to the garage door. He shined his headlights into the garage, and her neighbor raced out of the garage.
As her neighbor sprinted down the street, her cousin’s boyfriend followed after him, and she called the cops. Law enforcement arrived a while later, and she provided them with a statement of what had happened. However, they told her that they couldn’t take any action against him because aside from trespassing onto her family’s property, he didn’t hurt anyone.
From then on, she stopped going on walks for the rest of the time she and her family lived in that house. To this day, she doesn’t know how her neighbor knew that the wall he was banging was her bedroom wall.
She also wondered if he was aware that her sister wasn’t home and that her father was bedridden and unable to help in an emergency. Since she hadn’t locked every door, she worried that maybe he’d snuck into the house at some point. It sends chills down her spine to think of what her neighbor would have done if she’d gone outside.
