Her Super Wealthy Parents Stuck Her With A $1,200 Restaurant Bill On Her Birthday, Even Though She’s Broke In Comparison To Them

“They plan these fancy vacations, always want me and my boyfriend to come with them, but always expect us to pay (which I guess is fair),” she said.

“In contrast, my boyfriend’s parents are extremely supportive and generous. They always pay for me when we go out, go on trips, etc., to the point where I feel bad and want to pay them back, but they refuse to take any money from me or my boyfriend because they know we’re saving up for a house.”

“This just makes me feel bad because my boyfriend’s parents treat me so well, but when we go out with my family, they not only expect us to pay for ourselves but also for them/my brother.”

On Friday, her parents asked her to take her 17-year-old brother to a shooting range and then out to dinner.

She did just that and had to drop approximately $200 for the entire night. She didn’t ask her mom and dad to give her money to treat her brother, and she actually didn’t say a single thing about money.

Saturday, they had a birthday dinner for her, and it was held at a seafood restaurant close to where she lives.

10 people were in attendance, and her parents had asked her to plan this party since they don’t feel like they spend enough time with her.

“I planned it but told them in advance that I am not in a position to pay for everyone,” she said.

“The entire night, they kept ordering the most expensive food/drinks on the menu and teasing me about having to pay for all of it.”

“When the check came, they literally got up and walked out of the restaurant, leaving me with a $1,200 check. They said I got money as a gift from my grandpa ($50), so I can afford this dinner.”

Before her mom and dad exited the restaurant, there was a moment when her mom realized how panicked she was about having to pay for the bill.
