Hearing about dating disasters is often one of people’s favorite pastimes. So, here’s a chance to indulge in this guilty pleasure.

TikToker Hope Myer (@hopeemyer) is discussing how a guy she went on a first date with flipped out over fast food and then lurked outside of her school, waiting for her class to be done after she said she wasn’t interested.

So, when Hope was still living in New York, she and her ex-boyfriend broke up. She decided to give online dating a shot and matched with a guy on a dating app. They chatted for a bit, and then he asked her to hang out with him that same night.

He first invited her to his apartment, but she wasn’t comfortable with that. Instead, she suggested that he pick her up from her place, which turned out to be a grave mistake.

Right off the bat, she discovered that he had lied about his height. His profile stated that he was five feet and ten inches tall. In reality, he was about an inch shorter than her.

Hope thought it was a red flag to lie about something so insignificant from the get-go but tried to stay optimistic.

He was not familiar with the area she lived in, so she directed him to a bar she had been to a few times, where they served good drinks.

At the bar, she listened to him talk about himself for an hour. He didn’t really ask her any questions about herself, which rubbed her the wrong way since the whole point of a date was to get to know each other better.

However, the real red flag came up when she realized she was drunk because she hadn’t eaten enough that day.

She knew there was a fast food restaurant down the street from the bar, and she wanted to stop by to satisfy her hunger.

But when she asked him if he wanted to get some fast food, that prompted him to launch into a diatribe against people who ate fast food.

He was really into fitness and believed that people who ate fast food didn’t respect their bodies. He claimed that he hadn’t eaten fast food in ten years.

Immediately, she knew things weren’t going to work out between them, but she maintained politeness until they could wrap up the date. She suggested they just leave instead.

As they were leaving, they passed a group of guys outside the bar. She made a joke about how she wouldn’t want to be out by herself at that time of night.

He responded that she didn’t know him very well, and for all she knew, he could be a murderer. She reacted by laughing nervously.

He didn’t want the date to end just yet, so she took him to a park, where they sat on a bench and talked.

At one point, he invited her back to his apartment again. She declined, saying that she wanted to get home because she had classes to attend the next day.

He became upset, telling her that if she was on a dating app, she should be using it for hookups. He added that he would let it slide since he was a nice guy.

After that, he walked her back to her place and suggested they go out again sometime.

Hope agreed, not wanting to upset him further. The next day, he texted her nonstop, trying to reach her.

She finally told him that she didn’t want to go on a second date because she didn’t feel they had a connection.

He thanked her for telling him, and everything seemed to go smoothly. She didn’t hear from him again until the following week.

While she was in class, he sent her his location. He happened to be right outside her school at the exact time she was about to be done with class. When she left the classroom, she put on her hood, ran home, and blocked his phone number.
