If You Thought Spinach Was Boring, She Has A Recipe To Make It More Exciting

Does anyone really like spinach? It’s just one of those things you eat to try to be healthy. Somehow it’s bland and bitter at the same time, but most of all, it’s just plain boring. You’re basically eating leaves at this point.
However, one TikToker named Sarah Chetrit (@sarchetrit) has a way of making spinach more exciting and genuinely taste good.
Yes, that’s right. Spinach can taste good! Bet you never thought you’d see the words ‘spinach’ and ‘taste good’ in the same sentence.
In Korean culture, this spinach dish is called sigeumchi muchim, according to Sarah. It consists of boiled spinach with soy sauce banchan.
It is a very popular and common side dish among Koreans because it’s simple and easy to make and pairs well with other Korean food staples.
So let’s check out the recipe from her viral video. It has garnered over three million views, so it’s got to be good!
Here’s how to make this traditional Korean side dish:
Start by blanching an entire bag of spinach for approximately thirty seconds. Next, drain the spinach and immediately rinse the leaves with cold water. Pick up the pile of spinach and squeeze it until all the water comes out.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together one tablespoon of soy sauce, one tablespoon of sesame oil, a teaspoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of black pepper, and a whole clove of minced garlic.

Lastly, add the spinach and mix well so it absorbs the seasoning. You can eat the spinach with rice and an egg or by itself.
Several TikTok users are expressing their gratitude to Sarah for introducing them to a new and improved way of eating spinach.
“I tried this, and it’s VERY good I was not expecting it,” commented one user.
“I don’t even like spinach, but this was so good! Ty,” stated another.
“Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!! I made it tonight, and I think I’m going to live off it,” shared a third.
