This young woman was engaged to her fiancé, whom she dated for two years before saying “yes” to marriage.

But, she recently found out some shocking news that caused her to call off the entire engagement: her fiancé had brain cancer.

She made the life-altering discovery while they were in the midst of moving to a new house. At that point, she started going through some boxes of their belongings and stumbled across evidence of his diagnosis in his stuff.

“Neither he nor his family told me he had cancer and was undergoing treatment for it. I felt very betrayed,” she revealed.

She obviously confronted her fiancé about it, too, and he just broke down crying. She couldn’t wrap her mind around why he never bothered to tell her, but all her fiancé had to say for himself was that he felt like he couldn’t “trust her.”

She had no clue what that was supposed to mean, either, but he just kept dodging the question. Then, he proceeded to apologize profusely for keeping the diagnosis a secret from her.

Nonetheless, the damage was done in her eyes. That’s why she decided to both break off their engagement and end their entire relationship. To her, this secret was way too big to keep from a soon-to-be spouse.

But, ever since she did that, her fiancé has been begging for her back. Even his family has tried convincing her to change her mind and get back together with him.

“But I don’t want to be with him anymore,” she admitted.

From her perspective, the issue really is not the cancer. It’s more so the fact that her fiancé felt like he needed to keep such a massive secret from her.

“I thought there was mutual trust in our relationship, but there wasn’t, clearly,” she vented.

Her fiancé won’t give up, though, and keeps claiming that he really loves her. Plus, he’s saying that he wants to spend the rest of his life that he has left with her.

Still, she really just doesn’t want to be with him anymore, and she can’t help but wonder if leaving her fiancé because of his secret cancer diagnosis is really the wrong thing to do.

How would you feel if your fiancé kept something so huge from you? Why do you think he didn’t trust her enough to tell her? Did she have a right to call off their engagement or not?
