Two years ago, this 28-year-old woman got married to her 28-year-old husband, and they have been together for a total of 9 years.

They also have a 7-year-old daughter together, and they honestly never argue at all. On the rare occasion that they do, they always disagree about something that is pretty major, so that’s why she was left so confused after they got into a blowout fight over takeout a few days ago.

Now, she and their daughter adore eating spicy food, but her husband absolutely hates anything with a kick to it.

He’s the kind of guy who only likes to season his food with pepper and salt, and that is the extent of his culinary adventurousness.

Often, she will make spicy food for her and their daughter to enjoy and make a separate dish for her husband that fits what he likes.

Or, she and their daughter will just eat dishes her husband likes, even if it means they skip out on the spiciness to accommodate his tastes.

Over the weekend, on Saturday, her husband and his friends went on a road trip to get car parts, and it was a 12-hour round trip for them. They left at 9 a.m., and her husband was gone for the entire day.

“I went ahead and ordered from an Indian place that [is] our daughter’s favorite; my husband also likes this place and just orders something mild when we eat from there,” she explained.

“Since my husband was not home, I did not order him anything as I thought that they would’ve eaten on the road. When he got home, he greeted us, then immediately went to the fridge and saw some boxes left of food. When he opened them, he obviously noticed he could not eat any of them.”

“Now we argued just for about 5 minutes of this, the consensus of the argument was him saying that I should’ve either thought about him and ordered him something, or I should’ve asked him if he had eaten or wanted anything. I argued that I would’ve probably done so if it was just for a few hours he was away, but he was away for over 12 hours and came home about 4 hours after we usually eat, so I assumed he had eaten.”

After their blowout fight over takeout, her husband made himself dinner and accused her of not wanting to be “bothered” to do this for him.

Later on, when she cooked food for her and their daughter, her husband was in the living room, and he sent her a scathing text saying he hoped she was happy to be able to eat her food how she wanted to.

She thinks her husband acted completely bizarre over the takeout, and he has never gotten so upset before, which is leaving her confused.

She’s left wondering if it was rude of her to order takeout her husband can’t enjoy too.
