I don’t know about you, but my hair is kind of going through it.

The harsh winter winds took their toll, and I had been styling it a lot with heat tools for various events, etc. Many people struggle to keep their hair in its healthiest state, and it can be hard to put in a lot of money and time to get the best products and make routine visits to your hairdresser.

So, if you need some simple, basic ways to at least keep your hair looking healthier than it is, here are some tips for you!

Use Hair Serum

Not only will using hair serums nourish and help your hair get healthier, but it’ll also make your hair look great.

If you want your hair to look sleeker, more moisturized, and draw less attention to your split ends, add a few drops of hair oil or serum to your ends. This will help your hair look much smoother and shinier versus dry and frizzy.

Experiment With Updos

If you’ve been getting frustrated with how your hair looks down or feel like you need a break from heat tools and complex styling, wear your hair up more often! It draws less attention to any dryness or damage your hair may be experiencing.

Never underestimate the power or convince of a good ponytail and messy bun.

Embrace your curls

When my hair is dry and dead, I find that it’s a lot more noticeable when I wear my hair straight and use a flat iron. My fly-aways become more noticeable, and my hair falls flat.

But when I embrace the wavier textures of my hair and choose to wear it curly instead, it looks so much more full and voluminous. So, try using a heartless curl technique and embrace wearing your hair with curls!

Use cornstarch or dry shampoo

If you’re trying to be good about washing your hair less because you’re trying to minimize your hair’s damage, start using dry shampoo to make it look more presentable.

Using corn starch as dry shampoo is very helpful (you can read a previous article about it here!), or you can stick with your go-to brand. This way, you can still let your hair rest between washes while keeping it looking fabulous.

Again, it’s okay if you’re struggling with hair that’s not super healthy. We’re only human, and we’re all doing our best. But with these tips, hopefully, you’ll be feeling more confident about your locks.
