He Dumped The Girl He’s Been Seeing At A Restaurant Because She Never Offered To Pay On Any Of Their Dates, And It Disgusts Him When Women Don’t “Carry Their Own Weight”

This man has been friends with one of his co-workers, Miranda, for about two years. She is in a senior position at the company and earns a higher salary than he does. Throughout the entire time that they’ve known one another, they’ve always had mutual romantic feelings for one another, and they both knew how the other person felt.

He and Miranda always made eyes at each other, came up with excuses to walk up to one another’s desks, and constantly goofed around. Since they were dating other people at the time, they never crossed the line with their interactions, but it was obvious they had chemistry.

Over the last half year, he and Miranda ended their respective relationships, and their connection was still there. So, a month ago, he chose to ask Miranda on a date. She seemed thrilled and accepted. He took Miranda to dinner, and the date wasn’t too pricey.

“Since I asked her out, I paid, but I noticed she didn’t even offer to pay for herself. We went back to my place and hooked up, and it was great,” he said.

From then on, their relationship was going smoothly. They talked on the phone for hours, and Miranda came over to his place about twice a week. It was reminiscent of when he was in relationships in high school because the honeymoon phase with Miranda was such a blast.

However, after dates with dinner, drinks, movies, and mini golf, Miranda has never suggested paying for her half of the dates.

“Many of those things were her idea, and it frankly grosses me out to no end when a woman isn’t willing to carry her own weight,” he explained.

Two days ago, he and Miranda went out to dinner at a Thai restaurant, and when the bill arrived, he suggested that they split it this time around, adding that he needed to pay a couple thousand dollars on car repairs that week. While he had enough money to pay for both of them, he wanted to test Miranda’s reaction.

He was stunned that she asked why they were at dinner when he didn’t have enough money to pay for it. He questioned whether she assumed he’d be paying for all of their dates, and Miranda told him that since he was the man in the relationship, he should “treat her like a lady.”
