Quite recently, this 25-year-old guy’s 23-year-old girlfriend made it pretty big as a streamer on various platforms.

She live streams on Kick, Twitch, and TikTok, and he says it’s been incredible watching his girlfriend grow.

He truly is proud of her for achieving so much success on the internet, and he does support what she does.

“The money’s been a game changer for us, no lie there. It’s insane the money they make from ads, donations etc.,” he explained.

“But I’m struggling with the whole parasocial relationship aspect of their fame. Fans are super invested in my partner’s life, which is kind of the point, but it’s starting to feel like there’s a whole bunch of people who “know” my SO in a way that’s a bit too close for comfort.”

“They’re always super positive and supportive, but it’s weird feeling like you’re sharing your partner with an army of online followers.”

He trusts his girlfriend implicitly, and they do chat about her newfound fame and how she’s interacting with all of her followers.

Despite that, he’s simply uncomfortable with how her fans talk to her. He’s not exactly sure how to discuss this more with his girlfriend without making her feel unsupported or like he’s envious.

He says it’s been bizarre feeling happy for her success, but at the same time, feeling kind of lost in an enormous crowd of people who adore her.
