He’s not asking to go out with friends; he’s asking to go on dates, and that’s what hurts her. She wouldn’t care if her husband had a female coworker he wanted to hang out with one-on-one, but that’s not what he’s looking to do.
He’s only interested in meeting women for the purpose of taking them out on dates, which is not the definition of friendship.
“So, in my eyes, that blurs the line of platonic,” she said. “Technically, it does fit the textbook definition as he is not [sleeping] with them, but I feel as though the textbook definition is not always how things are perceived.”
As she was trying to figure out how to handle this moving forward, her husband called her up to say he’s going to file for divorce, as he dislikes how she acted.
