While there were other reasons why he wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship with Samantha, he only mentioned that she’d hooked up with Jason.
Unfortunately, Samantha was furious, which he hadn’t expected. She didn’t yell at people or get angry often, so he was shocked by her reaction.
After Samantha blew up at him, he assumed they were no longer friends, which disappointed him. Upon reflection, he wondered if his answer should have been kinder and less harsh. He plans to be more careful in the future when having difficult conversations.
