His Wife Cheated On Him For Nearly A Year Then Lied About It, But He's Scared To Leave Her And Ruin Their Family

For nine years now, this 38-year-old man has been married to his 34-year-old wife, and they have a 5-year-old son.

He truly thought he was the happiest man alive. His wife has always been wonderful as a wife and as a mom, too. When his wife gave birth to their son, that was the best moment of his life.

"Our friends even call us "the TV family" because of how perfect we look to them," he explained.

"My wife is a former campus beauty pageant winner and is constantly approached by men (and has been for as long as I have known her), but she never did anything to make me suspect she's not loyal to me."

"My wife's behavior suddenly had become strange. She was totally normal towards my son but was always annoyed and dismissing me for no reason. I tried to communicate about it, but she would just yell at me."

He thought showing his wife more affection would help, but she pushed him away. Things got so terrible that they sent their son to his mom and dad's house for the weekend so they could talk alone.

That weekend, his wife admitted to him that she cheated on him with a man named A, who's an instructor at their athletic club.

He noticed his wife was crushing on A in the beginning, but he was never concerned because his wife maintained good boundaries.

"She told me they had a one-night stand," he said. "I asked her for the details. Her story was too odd, but I acted like I believed her."

"She said she had acted badly towards me because seeing me reminded her of her mistake, and she couldn't handle the guilt, so she lashed out at me. I had too many questions, but I was so suspicious I couldn't even get emotional."

"The next Monday, my wife went to work and took our son to daycare, and I took sick leave. My wife was using a messaging app to contact A. She's not tech-savvy, but I knew that this app uses local data storage. Meaning that even if she erased messages on the phone app, they stay on the PC app, which she also has. So I had hope to find the truth."

He hopped on his wife's computer, located her conversation with A, and went back to see what was going on.

He instantly discovered tons of steamy videos, messages, and photos, which made him sick. His wife had sent selfies to A of her in their bathtub, saying she was thinking of him. She also sent mirror selfies when they were on vacation with their son.

He knew he shouldn't have done this, but he watched a couple of the videos his wife had sent to A, and she was a totally different person.

She was enthusiastic, and doing things he had never seen her do before. He could see his wife was more attracted to A than him.

He went back eight months and still was hit with tons upon tons of messages. He ended up printing everything out.

"I was crying and breathing hard and wanted to jump out of the window. I just wanted my son but didn't want him to be around me in this state," he added.

"After I calmed down, I looked at the text logs and found out the worst part. She had lied about ending it with him. Their most recent messages showed A had told my wife he wanted to end their relationship."

"She didn't accept at first and kept asking why, and he said he had another girlfriend he wanted to get serious with. She begged him, acted sad, and then got angry with him, but he told her that if she kept bothering him, he'd send me their pictures and videos. These last message dates coincided with her behavior change. So she was not upset with herself as she claimed; she was upset because she got dumped."

His wife's affair went on for about a year, so it was hardly a one-night fling like she had told him initially.

He packed up his belongings before his wife got home, messaged her to say he knew the truth and went to stay with his mom and dad.

He didn't explain to his parents why he was there; he glossed over it all and mentioned he had gotten into a fight with his wife. Ever since his wife has been pleading with him to return home and apologizing. She has also left teary voicemails for him.

"I am absolutely devastated, as my family meant everything to me," he continued. "I can't even see my wife as the same woman because of what I saw in those videos and images, but more because she was so good at hiding it."

"If she didn't get dumped and threatened, I am not sure I would have ever suspected anything wrong. I don't know who is the real woman, the woman in the images or the woman who cared for me, my son, and my parents so deeply."

"I have so many questions why she did this. I know that I am not the most physically attractive man that she could have chosen, but I'm a good father and a good husband; I have a great career and enough money so that neither she nor our son is lacking for anything and can do, have, anything and go anywhere they want."

He can't understand why she would do this to him. He also misses her terribly, even though it's like the woman he loved has passed away.

He's concerned his son will find out about what she did when he gets older and will hate him for being weak enough to take her back.

However, his wife isn't from his country, and if he files for divorce, he's worried about having to go to court to fight for custody of their son. He doesn't want his son to have to lose out on one of his parents forever.

"Logically, I know I must leave my wife, but I feel like I'll never be happy again unless my family is together again," he concluded.

"How can I save my family from being destroyed by this? Has anyone recovered from the affair through counseling? What is the best thing for my son?"
