When Veronica got to the restroom, she found an employee and asked her to distract the guy she was with so she could make an escape.
The employee agreed and proceeded to distract the guy in the glitter aisle while Veronica rushed out to her car. She left him at the store and drove home.
They had been about 30 miles away from the first store where he had parked his car, so he was definitely upset that she had ditched him.
She was afraid that he would track down where she worked and ambush her there, so she always kept a Doberman near her. Luckily, nothing ever happened.
