Jacqueline’s mom declared that she would not be marrying him because he had taken her against her will. He agreed to bring her back home, but he pointed out that her super strict brothers would never believe that nothing was going on between them, especially since this was turning into an overnight trip.

Finally, she agreed to marry him, but he had to promise to fund a trip for her to visit Mexico every year and send money to her parents. So, instead of a meet-cute at a park, it turned out that Jacqueline’s dad kidnapped her mom.
A year later, Jacqueline was born, and her brother came four years after her birth. In the end, everything seemed to work out. The cherry on top is that Jacqueline’s father actually spent nine years in prison for a murder charge prior to the kidnapping.
