Eventually, she got fed up with the lack of communication and decided to contact his workplace. When she called his workplace, he was obviously not in the office, so she asked to be transferred to his coworker.
As soon as she explained who she was and what she wanted, the coworker immediately became guarded.
He told her that he couldn’t discuss anything over the phone but would like to meet up with her for dinner.
At dinner, the coworker revealed that her this guy was in the Philippines attending his father’s funeral with his wife and two kids.
Upon hearing the news, she was shocked and heartbroken. She was ready to move on and put it all behind her, but two weeks later, she received a threatening message from a woman on her social media account.
It was his wife, and she had found out about Stephanie because her husband had used her airline points to book Stephanie’s trips.
Stephanie noted that it must have been devastating for his wife to find out about her, but she felt just as hurt and betrayed.
This man had managed to lie not only to her but to her friends and family as well. To this day, she still has a hard time trusting others.
