After learning about this plan, she wondered what would happen to her inheritance, so she confronted her mother to hear her thoughts.
She assumed that her mom would sell the family home, live in the studio apartment, and continue living off the money from the sale of the house.
“I figured she would leave the proceeds to me when she passed. (There is no way she’ll burn through $900,000, not anywhere near it because she’ll have basically no bills),” she explained.
Her mother said she planned to give her $100,000 and divide the rest of the money from the home sale among her 9 grandchildren (six of her mom’s grandkids are her brothers’ children, so these children have grown up with millionaire fathers).
“I was not only hurt but livid. Out of a $900,000 house, you only want to give me $100,000??? We had a big argument because she doesn’t see how unfair that is,” she shared.
During the fight, she reminded her mom that this wasn’t what was originally written in her or her father’s wills.
In her view, she’s been a wonderful, grateful, and kind daughter. She worked hard to help the family business. Her ex-husband has regularly told her she’s the “least greedy” person he knows.
