These Margarita Ice Pops Are The Perfect Way To Enjoy A Sweet, Boozy Treat During Your Cinco De Mayo Celebration

There are two things that are extra delicious on a hot summer day: an ice pop and a margarita.
What if there was a way to enjoy both treats in one go?
One of my favorite discoveries is the ‘margarita pop,’ a frozen margarita in ice pop form. It’s the perfect sweet and boozy treat for a warm summer day and would be extra delicious for a Cinco De Mayo celebration.
Here’s how to make them!
Margarita Pops
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup of lime juice
- 1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 cup of tequila of choice
- 2 tablespoons orange liquor
- Course salt (for garnish)
- Lime slices (for garnish)
- 2 cups frozen strawberries (optional)
Materials:
- 12 3oz Dixie cups
- 12 popsicle sticks

To make your margarita pops, you’ll want to begin by setting up your 12 Dixie cups on a tray or baking sheet so you can easily place them in the freezer after filling them with your margarita pop mixture.
Next, it’s time to make the mixture, which is essentially a classic margarita base with condensed milk!
Combine the lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, water, tequila, and orange liquor in a large measuring cup or pitcher. Give everything a good stir until well combined.
To make these into strawberry margaritas, blend this mixture with two cups of frozen strawberries.
Once your mixture is ready, divide it evenly into the Dixie cups.
Place one thin, round slice of lime on the top of each filled Dixie cup for a fun lime garnish. This way, when your margarita pops are done, they’ll have a cute lime slice on the bottom. Insert a popsicle stick through the lime slice into the center of each Dixie cup.
Now it’s time to freeze! Place your tray of Dixie cups in the freezer until frozen solid, which should take at least six hours. But for extra reassurance and efficiency, making these margarita pops the night before serving and allowing them to freeze overnight is a good idea.
Once they’re ready, simply remove the pops from the Dixie cups by cutting down the edge of the cup with scissors and peeling the cup away.
Garnish the tops of the margarita pops with some coarse salt, and you’ve got a delicious, creamy, and satisfying boozy dessert that will have your guests thrilled!
If you love frozen desserts and a good margarita, this is the treat for you. Enjoy!
