Lime Margaritas Are A Classic On Cinco De Mayo, So Here’s How To Make One From Scratch

If you want to make a margarita on the rocks, you begin by adding ice to your margarita glass of choice.

If you don’t like ice in your glass but want to keep your drink cold, pop your empty glass in the freezer for a few hours before making your drink.

For a salty rim, take a lime wedge and run it across the rim of your glass. Then, dip your glass in a shallow dish filled with a few tablespoons of course salt until the rim is evenly coated. A salt rim is essential to many margarita lovers and is highly recommended!

Now it’s time to make your margarita! Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice.

If you want your margarita to be sweeter, add the agave nectar. If you’re okay with it being a bit more sour or dry, leave out the agave.

Shake the cocktail shaker for a good 20 seconds before pouring your margarita into your glass. Garnish the glass with a lime wedge, and you’re good to go!

Making a margarita requires little effort and is great for those who are new to cocktail-making.

Making a classic margarita for you and your friends is a good summer skill, so get out there and make them!

But of course, remember to drink responsibly. Cheers!
