This 28-year-old woman lives in Germany and makes great money, so she supports herself and her boyfriend, as he recently lost his job.

She was just invited to attend her friend’s Spanish-Italian-themed wedding, and she served as her friend’s witness.

The event lasted two days, and it was three hours away from a major city. There was the wedding ceremony, a lunch, a party, and on the second day, there was a barbecue.

“We were told not to bring any gifts as the couple has planned a second wedding in Italy for 80+ people and rented out a mansion,” she explained.

“The groom’s family is very rich. As a witness and best friend, I always went above and beyond by helping her in everyday life.”

She ended up renting a car for the wedding, which cost her more than $270, and she helped her best friend pick up guests from the airport.

The wedding took a strange turn on the second day when she got to the barbecue and was informed that there wasn’t enough food, so she would have to go grocery shopping.

Her best friend spent months planning the wedding and knew how many guests were coming, so she found it weird that her best friend hadn’t planned for enough food to feed everyone.

Additionally, there were multiple people at the barbecue who could have run out to the grocery shop, but it was dumped on her.

As she and her boyfriend ran to the store to get food, they kept receiving calls to purchase more and more food.

Her boyfriend was also asked to pick up fresh bread, which he did. When they got back to the barbecue, she was asked to help cook the food, which took an hour.

“The food which we bought was distributed around all tables, meaning that we kind of sponsored the barbecue, which we were invited to,” she explained.

“The stupidest moment was that when my BF asked for bread, he wasn’t allowed to take the fresh bread he bought.”

The groom’s family members were all present, but they did nothing to help out, and the groom was hungover, so he was useless.

A lot of her best friend’s loved ones were just hanging out and enjoying instead of pitching in to help her get things done.

She just had a terrible feeling about the barbecue, but she was excited to have been there to help her best friend.

“Afterward, the couple went on a honeymoon and asked me to take care of their plants for one month, which is totally fine with me,” she said.

“I prepared them a nice bottle of champagne to celebrate their return from the honeymoon. As I spent a lot of money on food, I wanted to get some reimbursement. It’s not like I bought food for only my BF, my friend and me, but for all others who could have gone shopping as well.”

She totaled up all the money she spent on the food and asked her best friend, the bride, to pay for 2/5ths of it.

Instead of her best friend being sympathetic, her best friend laced into her, leaving her feeling crushed.

“Despite my efforts and expenses, I was harshly criticized for being a terrible friend, for not bringing a present, not washing dishes, or contributing enough financially,” she added.

“I was told that I should be thankful that their friends allowed us to stay overnight (we got them a bottle of expensive wine as a thank you).”

Her best friend’s husband accused her of trying to get her hands on some of their money and also said she didn’t do enough as a wedding guest.

Remember, the bride and groom asked their guests not to bring presents, so she literally followed the rules they set.

She was at work when her best friend yelled at her, and she ended up crying in front of her coworkers.

She feels so unappreciated by her best friend, and she doesn’t understand all the accusations her best friend and husband hurled at her. She honestly did her best to help out at the wedding, yet her best friend can’t see that.

She’s left wondering if it was wrong of her to ask her best friend to reimburse her for the food she purchased.
