These Game Ideas Are Sure To Keep Your Guests Entertained, Whether You’re Tying The Knot Indoors Or Outside

Weddings are wonderful and exciting occasions where all your friends and family members can mingle and have a blast. Many guests will attend a wedding and end up leaving with a new friend or two, or at the very least, many fond memories.
But weddings are long, and sometimes, you get invited to a ceremony where you hardly know anyone. Therefore, you would hope your hosts arrange a few things to break the ice and get everyone bonding.
Sure, there’s already a good chance you’ll bond with people on the dance floor, but there should be more than one way to introduce some wholesome and lively guest interactions. That’s why playing games at a wedding is a great idea.
They’re a quick way for people to get to know each other, making your wedding day even more memorable. If you have the means to set up a few simple outdoor games at your wedding, you’ll make your day even better.
Here are a few game ideas if you want a fun-filled wedding!
Reception Games
A few exciting ones you can play with your guests during your wedding reception on the dancefloor include:
Stand up, sit down
This is an awesome game for getting wedding guests moving as you ask them trivia questions about the bride and groom, then have them stand up for one answer option and sit down for the other.

The shoe game
This is actually an activity for the happy couple that guests can enjoy watching! The bride and groom sit back to back, and each has a bride’s shoe and groom’s shoe in their hands. Then they’re asked questions like, “Who takes the longest to get ready?” and have to hold up a shoe to answer for the bride or groom.
Bingo
Bingo is an event classic, and in the wedding planning world, there are so many ways to jazz it up and make it more personal. Instead of numbers, you could add fun facts about the happy couple’s relationship or interests.
Outdoor Lawn Games
If you’re getting married at a venue with a nice big lawn for your guests to mingle on, see if they can play games outside, too!
Cornhole
Cornhole is another classic event and tailgating game, as it’s super fun and requires few materials. This is an especially great activity to get your guests bonding, as they’ll work in pairs and have a good time. Just be sure no one throws their bean bag too hard!
Giant Jenga
I am a big fan of Jenga, the high-stakes game with all the stacked blocks, and nowadays, there are larger versions of Jenga that are more suitable for larger crowds.
Better yet, you can also make it ‘truth or dare’ Jenga and write prompts on the back of each block to really foster some great connection.
Wedding Table Games
You don’t necessarily need to have a ton of space and have your guests play big, elaborate games at your wedding. Rather, you can have fun right at your table!
Mad Libs
Mad Libs are low stakes, silly, and enjoyable with a fellow wedding guest at a table. So many websites can create customizable and personal Mad Libs about the bride and groom, making the game cards cute party favors or scrapbook memories.
Couple’s trivia
One of the easiest ways for wedding guests to get acquainted with each other is to bond over just how well they know the bride and groom.
The DJ can create teams and ask the crowd trivia questions, and perhaps the winners will get a little prize!
Crossword puzzles
Like the Mad Libs, you can create personalized crosswords online, making them about the happy couple and leaving enough copies for each guest on every table. It would also be cute to see how your guests could help each other answer the questions.
Indoor Games
Stuck inside for most of your wedding? That’s okay; you can still find room for indoor games!
Beer pong
If you’re a sucker for a classic college drinking game and your older relatives won’t freak out if you want to channel the glory days, play a few rounds of beer pong!
Simply ask the venue to supply you with a long table, get your vendors to set aside some beer, grab some solo cups and ping pong balls, and you’re good to go.
Arcade games
A few venues and special vendors offer old-school arcade games that you can keep inside and play with your guests! Who wouldn’t mind a little game of Pac-Man or some pinball between songs on the dance floor?
Now, you’re equipped with some fun wedding game ideas that can take your special event to the next level. Which sounds the most exciting to you?
