There is no shortage of ghostly occurrences in the Appalachian Mountains, a region rich with history and tragedy. TikToker Sydney (@bryansm91) is sharing a spooky story from someone who used to work as a paramedic in the Appalachian Mountains.

A man named Jim was a paramedic in a small, remote area of the Appalachian Mountains. At his station, there were only two bays and one ambulance.

He and his partner were working a 24-hour shift. It was 3 a.m., and his partner was asleep because it was a very slow night. They had only received one other call earlier in the day.

So, Jim was just doing some paperwork when he heard a loud banging on the ambulance bay’s doors. The banging sounded very frantic, so he jumped up and opened the door.

However, no one was there. He shone his flashlight around the area and saw nothing but fog rolling down through the mountains.

He closed the door and went back inside to finish his paperwork, thinking that his mind was just playing tricks on him since he had been awake for so long.

That’s when he heard more banging coming from the side entrance. He whipped the door open, but again, there was nothing and no one.

Suddenly, his radio started crackling. He grabbed it from the table and heard only static at first. Then, a quiet voice said the word, “Help.”

He thought it might be a paramedic from another station and tried to ask who it was. The voice spoke again and said, “They don’t want you here.”

Jim was confused because the radio was typically used for sending paramedics out to respond to calls. He attempted to radio in several times to find out if anyone needed help.

Eventually, he woke up his partner and told him what had happened. His partner suggested that they call dispatch to see where the call originated from.

When they called dispatch, they were told there was no record of any calls coming into the station within the last three hours. At this point, Jim’s partner just thought he was crazy or sleep-deprived.

He decided to go outside and check the surrounding area. Together, they headed into the woods with their flashlights.

Everything seemed pretty normal. But when they returned to the station, they realized that the side door was locked. Jim’s partner finally agreed that something weird was going on.

They went around to the other side of the station to get inside. They checked the station for any intruders, but the coast was clear.

Weeks later, Jim still could not get the incident off his mind, so he started doing some research. He discovered that a hiker went missing in the 1970s and never returned.

They were never able to find the body, and it is still an unsolved missing persons case. So, all the strange happenings at the station could’ve been caused by the hiker’s ghost.
