TikTok is never short of creepy stories, but a creator who goes by the handle @loiis.layne recently shared a ghost story involving a tragic death and a nighttime visitor who wasn’t supposed to be there.
The story was from someone named Adriana, who saw her foster mom’s dead brother in the dark of night.
Adriana was roughly 13 years old when she entered the foster care system. One weekend, she and her foster family took a trip to her foster mom’s family farm.
As soon as they arrived, Adriana could feel something heavy in the air, but she ignored the feeling and made her way to the farmhouse with the rest of the family.
As she studied the photos on the walls, one of them caught her eye. She stopped at a photo of her foster mom and a man she didn’t recognize, pointed to the man, and asked who he was.
Her foster mom informed her that the man was her brother. He had passed away from a tractor accident on the farm. The eerie detail should’ve been a warning sign of what was to come, but the night was just getting started.
Later, Adriana and the other kids went across the street to explore an old church. Adriana was getting bad vibes from this church.
The other kids sent her into the church first because she was the bravest. Nothing happened when she stepped foot inside. The building stayed silent, stale, and uneventful.
As the sun began to set, they returned to the farmhouse and settled into bed. The kids slept in the basement, which already had the perfect horror-movie layout.

Adriana slept on a couch facing a built-in bar area in the basement. In the middle of the night, she suddenly woke up.
“It was pitch-black in this basement, but once her eyes adjusted, she realized that there was a man standing in the bar area, wearing jeans and a flannel,” said @loiis.layne.
Adriana couldn’t tell if the man was wearing a hat or just didn’t have a face. He definitely looked like an adult, though. Frozen in place, she stared at the shadowy figure until exhaustion overtook her.
The next morning, she casually asked the adults if they had been in the basement last night. They all said no, and her foster mom asked in concern if something was wrong. Adriana simply smiled and said that everything was fine, not wanting to scare anyone.
“They left the farm, and that was that,” said @loiis.layne. “She never talked about it again, but she believes that she saw her mom’s brother that night, standing in the bar.”
One thing’s for sure: old farmhouses never disappoint when it comes to a haunting.
