Can we please normalize not commenting on someone else’s weight, unless they ask you for your opinion? Val Choucs (@valchoucs on TikTok) went out for drinks last night when a man in his 50s started hitting on her.

Val was not feeling him because she’s only 32, and that’s a pretty big age gap.

“But good conversation and a glass of wine, like I can yap, you know what I mean? So, he proceeds to tell me that I have such a beautiful face,” Val explained in her video.

“If you’re a fat girl, you know that’s like our favorite comment, because God forbid you say I’m just beautiful; it’s just, you have a beautiful face.”

“So, whatever, I take the comment, I say, ‘Thank you so much,’ and he’s like, ‘Is there anything you’re working on, like on yourself, in order to find a husband?'”

Val found the sequence of his questions super triggering, but she kept on speaking to him. She was aware that he was negatively remarking on her size, but she told him she was working on attempting to lose weight.

As soon as she said that, this guy jumped down her throat and said he was about to tell her to shed some pounds. He then mentioned that guys don’t like heavy girls, but he thought she was gorgeous and had potential if she got skinnier, since Val already has a wonderful personality. Ouch.

This man recommended that Val take Ozempic or Mounjaro. She was shocked by his audacity to say that, since Val was a stranger to him.

“The crazy part is, I know it came from a good place, like I wasn’t even insulted; it’s more like… this is the rhetoric. This is what people are thinking as I’m walking around,” Val noted.

“I go outside, it’s like, ‘Wow, you’re pretty, and you have a great personality, but you’re fat. That’s why you’re single.’ Like it’s sickening, and by the way, I know it’s kind of true.”

“I hate to admit it…I know it’s true, but it’s like, you’re going to say it to my face, no warning? I was not prepared for that last night. Anyways, I woke up today feeling like beautiful and like I need to get skinny now, so, thanks for the motivation, I guess.”

“Did you run into my dad by chance?” one girl wondered.

“That is not why you’re single. I don’t know you; you just showed up on my FYP. But you are not the problem, girl. Society is. Don’t ever think your weight defines you or should define how people see you. They’re the issue, not you. Hope you continue feeling beautiful,” another person said.

“You are really are a good sport. People in my generation were raised like this. No one treaded lightly. I would never ever speak like this to anyone. I guess he was trying to inspire you. I would never,” a third person remarked.
