It’s heartbreaking to me that some moms out there are jealous of their daughters, since your mom is the one person who’s supposed to love you unconditionally and be your cheerleader no matter what.

Paris Mwendwa (@parismwendwa on TikTok) works at Victoria’s Secret, and she has encountered her fair share of moms who are envious when it comes to their daughters and their bra sizes.

One thing Paris routinely has to do as part of her job is help young girls get sized for their first bras. Paris revealed that it’s one of the most frightening and difficult parts of her job, since none of these young girls find this part of growing up fun.

Paris mentioned they don’t want to even be there, but their moms make them come in. Many times, Paris has run into moms who have bizarre reactions to finding out what the bra sizes of their daughters are.

“So this happened the other day. Daughter comes in, she’s like looking everywhere but me. She had a Pokémon bag, and I was feeling so bad, because probably the only reason your mother could even get you to go to the mall was so that you can go and get your Pokémon cards, and then she forced you into Victoria’s Secret to buy a bra, and clearly you don’t want to be here,” Paris explained in her video.

“Anyway, so the daughter comes in, I do the sizing, trying to make it quick and easy, trying to be comfortable, trying to be nice, and I was like, ‘Oh, she’s a 32D. That’s her size.'”

The mom proceeded to freak out and couldn’t believe what Paris was telling her, so she had her measure her daughter all over again.

Paris reconfirmed that, indeed, she was correct about the size. The mom still didn’t want to hear it and huffed that she wasn’t even that big.

“I’m sorry, like yes, there is a genetic element, I guess, to how big your chest is, but like…I don’t need to size you in order to know your daughter, I’m sizing your daughter…that is your daughter’s size,” Paris added.

Paris said nobody teaches you while in the store that you have to be skilled in dealing with generational conflict and becoming a woman, and that’s tough.

Paris has seen women sob in the fitting rooms in front of her face because they don’t even look similar to the beautiful women hanging up in the posters around the store.

It’s such a heavy space, especially considering some women who walk in are dealing with being postpartum and having bodies that look different after giving birth.

And then adding on to that, moms who are green-eyed with envy over the bra sizes of their daughters is just a whole other ugly element.

“That really threw me off…why are you jealous of your daughter?…like she doesn’t want to be here, just get her a bra and go,” Paris concluded.

“I want my daughter to be better than me. I’m taking hotter, smarter, funnier. Why wouldn’t you want that!?!” one mom exclaimed in the comments section.

“My mum was a AA, I got sized as a DD when I was a teenager, and she was like yessss you can have all the clothes that don’t fit me right…normal response,” another woman said.

“My mom didn’t get me sized. She got me sports bras until my sister got me sized,” someone else weighed in.
