The other day, TikToker Carrington (@onlycarrington) went on a date, and as soon as she left the restaurant, she blocked him. The end of the night made it clear this date was headed straight for the dumpster.
So, before their first date, they had been talking for a couple of weeks. Finally, he asked her out on a date and suggested a spot, but she wasn’t interested in his first choice. Eventually, they settled on another spot and planned to meet up at around 7:45 or 8:00,
Unfortunately, the red flags started waving almost immediately. Carrington arrived on time, but he didn’t show up until 8:30. While she was waiting for him, she ordered a drink, and it was delicious.
When he arrived, they ordered food. At the end of the night, she went to use the restroom. She was under the impression that he would be handling the check because he had already mentioned that he would take care of the bill.
So, naturally, she thought the situation was settled.
But when she returned from the restroom, the server looked expectantly at her. Carrington glanced at the receipt and saw that it contained the two items she had ordered. He had already paid for his own food, but couldn’t be bothered to cover hers.
The move caught her off guard. It wasn’t about the money itself so much as the bizarre behavior surrounding it. If he intended to split the bill all along, he could have said so from the start instead of acting one way and then quietly paying only for himself while she was in the bathroom.
After she left the restaurant, she decided that she had seen enough. She blocked him and moved on with her life. Considering the circumstances, that may have been the quickest and most efficient ending possible.
In the comments section, several TikTok users were baffled by the way he handled the bill. They shared what they would have done in Carrington’s shoes and lamented over the increasingly chaotic state of modern romance.

“I would have asked why he was still at the table because I don’t need an audience to pay for my food,” stated one user.
“First of all, anyone who arrives 45 minutes late can expect to be seated at an empty table. I don’t play with being late,” commented another.
“Him showing up late was intentional to see what you’d put up with. Five-minute grace period because if the date is at 7:45, he should be there waiting for me at 7:30,” wrote a third.
“He really pointed out all the things he paid for and then waited for you to come back,” chimed in a fourth.
What would you do in this situation?
