We all know there's no glamour to being a teen mom, which is something we millennials got a front-row seat to, thanks to MTV, but TikToker Alyssa (@alyssaveloz_) has the saddest story I've ever heard about a young parent.

Alyssa got pregnant when she was only 13, so she was basically a baby herself, and she gave birth to her son at 14. She was in 8th grade when she welcomed her son into the world, and I mean, at that time in my life, my biggest concern was trying to get my braces off and a prescription for contacts before our important school dance, so I couldn't imagine having the responsibility of raising a human at that age.

But what's so heartbreaking to me happened before Alyssa even walked into the delivery room. While she was pregnant, she got bullied extensively by her classmates, and the majority of them were boys.

"Two of them kicked me in the stomach because they were just so mad that I was pregnant, which, by the way, like I haven't forgotten and I'm still going to get you for that," Alyssa said in her video.

"Anyways, a lot of people hear that, and they're like, 'Oh my God, I can't even imagine,' like, ok, I need to explain...I, like, lied to my parents about everything. They were accusing me of having a boyfriend; they were right about everything, and I was gaslighting them."

Alyssa denied that she had a boyfriend and told her mom she had a girlfriend instead to throw her off the trail. That was her strategy to prevent her parents from finding out about what she was doing behind their backs.

She admits she lied to her mom and dad about where she was and who she was hanging out with. She's no longer romantically tied to her baby daddy at this point in her life, but he and his wife are extremely involved with her son.

"They're absolutely amazing, wonderful, always around him, always helping him. All that other good stuff, so I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them at all. That's not what this video is about; it's about the fact that I became a mom when I was 13, technically," Alyssa clarified.

Alyssa was always on the taller side, so she was 5'4" or so and weighed 130 pounds. She would bloat easily, which her mom noticed.

Alyssa complained to her mom to stop calling her fat, but she was already pregnant and just didn't know it. It was only after she ate an entire bag of Hot Cheetos in the car one morning, arrived at her grandma's house, and promptly threw up that she knew something was going on.
