Recently, TikToker Kristina (@kristinaaaaelise) had to take her dog to the emergency vet. He had a fever of 104.6 degrees and very bad, bloody diarrhea.

She spent all day at the vet with her dog. At the vet, there were beds in the rooms for dogs staying in the hospital, so their owners could stay with them to keep them company.

So, of course, that’s what Kristina did. She was provided with pillows, fuzzy blankets, and fresh sheets for the bed. There were toothbrushes and floss in the bathroom for overnight stays.

She was able to be present when the vet techs were doing bloodwork and performing an endoscopy and ultrasound on her dog. He also got anesthesia, and she was right by his side when he woke up, which allowed him to be more relaxed.

At one point, Kristina had her friend drop off some clothes for her. The vet techs told her she could’ve just let them know if she needed anything because they provided a change of clothes for people who needed them.

Overall, she was amazed by the quality of care and treatment at this vet’s office. They were very comforting and allowed owners to be involved in their pet’s care, so they can better understand what’s going on with their health.

Kristina learned a lot and was extremely appreciative of the workers there, especially since she had almost decided to go to a different vet instead.

In the comments section, several TikTok users remarked on how they wished they could stay with their sick pet at the vet to reassure them and speed up the recovery process.

“My dog was in the ICU for 11 days, and I spent many hours lying on the floor with him because I was terrified he would feel abandoned and give up. It already cost me over $15,000, but I would’ve paid more to stay with him,” commented one user.

“This needs to be a thing. My teacup chihuahua went to the hospital, and I slept in my car because I didn’t want to leave her. That’s amazing,” stated another.

“I wish all emergency vets did this. When my cat needed emergency surgery and was there for three days, they charged me $150 for each phone call I made to check up on him. I called three times a day. I didn’t know until I got the bill. I was so upset,” wrote a third.
