Recently, TikToker @max.matches had one of the most interesting dating experiences of his life. He matched with a girl on a dating site, and they started messaging each other. He ended up bumping into her at the bar, so they stopped and chatted.
“It’s always nice when you match with someone and then see them out in public because it kind of gives you the green light to go talk to them,” he pointed out.
Their conversation went super smoothly, so they planned a date for the following day. The next day, he picked her up for their coffee date.
Being with her was easy, and it felt like they had known each other for a long time. The coffee date went extremely well. Before they left, she used the restroom. While he waited for her, he scrolled through TikTok on his phone.
All of a sudden, a video popped up on his For You page from the girl he was currently on a date with. In the video, she described him in detail, including his first and last name, as well as other traits and qualities about him that he wasn’t even aware of himself.
It really blew his mind because the date had been going well before he discovered the video.
“But within five minutes of her going to the bathroom, I see that she has 400,000 followers on TikTok, and she’s making videos about me before we had actually ever gone on a date in person,” he noted.
“Slightly off-putting, a little bit odd.”
Afterward, they headed back to her place, and they spent the entire rest of the day together. He slept over, and she made him breakfast in the morning.

He let himself forget about the video and stopped worrying about it. However, the next morning, he was scrolling through TikTok again when he came across another video about their date.
“The one benefit of this was that I knew that she had a good time on the date,” he stated. “She made that very clear in the video. I don’t know how I feel about someone airing out my date on social media literally five hours after I leave her crib.”
But now, he’s doing the exact same thing his date has been doing, so he’s not sure if he’s also in the wrong. Many TikTok users shared their thoughts in the comments section.
“This should be a conversation you have with her, but you two seem pretty compatible if this video is what you ended up doing in response,” joked one user.
“I don’t like this at all. No privacy, and putting your first and last name is wild. That’s such an invasion of privacy, and I would never see her again,” commented another.
“I would’ve been horrified. I would not want my business on the internet without my consent. That would’ve felt like a violation to me,” added a third.
