If you thought your old house was creepy because it creaks a little too much at night, wait until you hear about this place. TikToker Krista (@hauntinglykrista) is diving into one of the most haunted homes in the nation. They say good always prevails over evil, but the opposite is true in the Hinsdale House.
“This house was so violently haunted, a priest had to perform a full-blown exorcism, and it still didn’t work,” Krista began the video.
That wasn’t the only time someone tried to get rid of the evil within its walls. She added that it is known for its multiple failed exorcisms.
The Hinsdale House in New York is one of the most terrifying haunted houses in all of America. This unassuming white house with a tire swing in the yard might look ordinary on the outside, but inside, it’s a whole different story.
In the early 1970s, Clara and Phil Dandy moved into the house, along with their children, and were immediately tormented by many spirits.
They heard unexplained footsteps echoing through the halls, strange chanting from the nearby woods, and even saw shadowy figures drifting across the property.
Objects would levitate on their own, doors slammed without warning, and the entire home radiated an oppressive and sinister energy.
Eventually, the Dandy family called in a priest to deal with the situation out of desperation, thinking that an exorcism would do the trick.
The priest performed it right inside the house. Things seemed to calm down for a while, but the spirits actually never left. They struck back twice as hard, which meant the hauntings only intensified.

The Dandy family ended up moving out. Over the years, other families have lived in the home, but they never stayed for long. The spirits always drove them away.
“People still report being scratched, seeing apparitions, and even losing time,” said Krista. “Some say the land itself is cursed. Others believe something demonic is still inside.”
Would you ever take a tour through the haunted Hinsdale House? Or better yet, maybe even stay the night and find out for yourself who or what still calls it home?
“I spent a weekend there in 2018. I had my scariest experience there to date,” one person commented on the video.
“Is nobody talking about the look-alike of the Annabelle doll??” someone else wondered.
“Been there, the pond a mist starts to form over it, then the sound of horses 🐎 trotting, but no horses around the area, in the upstairs bedroom window, an old woman with a black dress with a white collar stares out of the window!” a third person exclaimed.
“We need Sam & Dean Winchester,” another person said.
