This story may sound like the plot of a horror movie, but TikToker Cyn (@cyntravel) insists that it came straight from someone her mom knows.
So, her mom knows someone who owned a nail salon, and when they first opened the shop, it wasn’t doing too well. The chairs sat empty, supplies were expensive, and the rent still had to be paid.
The owner was desperate to get the store up and running, so they traveled to Thailand to purchase a specific doll to help the business start booming. The conditions of the doll were strict and dark.
“Apparently, someone who is very spiritual can force a spirit into the doll, and the Thai person said that you have to feed it human sacrifices or offer human blood to the doll every night in order for it to do what you want it to do,” explained Cyn.
Obviously, human blood was out of the question. When the owner returned to the United States with the doll, she would ask for leftover animal blood from butcher shops.
At the end of each night, she would leave out a cup of the blood in the nail salon, hoping things would turn around soon enough.
However, the owner did not follow the rules, so the ritual did not go as planned. The store still didn’t do very well. Things became unsettling.
The turnover rate amongst the staff was very high because they quickly caught on to the fact that something weird was going on with the shop.
“They could see in the CCTV footage from the Ring camera they have in the nail salon, the doll would move around the shop every single night,” said Cyn. “They were so creeped out, they all quit.”

According to a comment from @yieldingparable, the doll was identified as a kumanthong. Those who use the doll can’t have children, or else it will claim someone close to them.
The doll is believed to house the spirit of a child and must be treated as if it were a real child. It can bring misfortune if disrespected.
Someone else added that the doll needed to be brought back to Thailand, where a proper ritual should be performed to get rid of the spirit. If it is done wrong, the spirit will get mad and do bad things to everyone.
The moral of the story here is not to mess with spirits. If your business plan involves blood offerings and a haunted doll, it might be time to rethink your strategies.
I think it’s safe to say that having a failed business is better than being haunted for the rest of your life. Spooky shortcuts to success rarely ever work as well as hard work, good management, and treating your employees well.
