We may have just come across something that may convert dedicated BlackBerry users to finally using the iPhone.The iPhone is getting a KEYBOARD called iTwinge, a real feel and tactile keyboard for those who thought their big thumbs would never allow them to use the touchscreen version. Launching tomorrow for $29.99, you can type as fast as you would on a standard QWERTY keypad. Watch the SMS mistakes and typos disappear – maybe. So how does it work? The iTwinge slips on to the bottom of the iPhone and voila your iPhone has a full fledged QWERTY physical keyboard. It will support the iPhone 3G and 3G S, however it doesn’t look that comfortable in the pictures but I guess its better than nothing.

It’s cute, but why lose 1/3 of your screen for something that you have to take off and put on when you functionally wish to use your phone. OUCH!
Get THE THUMB from the App Store and learn how to type. I get 35-40 wpm typing on the touch keyboard on the phone with just two thumbs. Why spend $29 when you can spend $2 and learn to type quickly without the accessory.
Nuff said.

Also, the software keyboard on the iPhone is pretty well designed. It just happens to have a steep (but short) learning curve.
But I guess it’s better to drop decent money on a clunky piece of plastic that makes it *harder* to see what key you’re pressing.

Heh, one way to think about improving the keyboard is allowing a “key” can access content..??
I just saw a new iphone AP , “Lightning Remarks”, it speeds up keyboard use by 5-10X. Its cool, it has 1000’s of pre stored remarks that , when replying to emails/texts (or creating new ones) you select categories and sub categories and you have available list of neat replies or messages. In 2-3 keystrokes you get 2-3 sentences remarks.Beauty is, it paste right back in emails. This is a cool idea for iphone users who want to speed up the keyboard use.
You can also add your own categories and remarks, this is limitless!
