Could it be a coincidence that LG announces the world’s first Dual-Core Smartphone, the LG Optimus 2X on on the same day that the Nexus S goes on sale at Best Buy. Who can keep up? We believe in having a market with lots of competition and choices, but it’s becoming a bit overwhelming for even early adopters. The new LG Optimus 2X runs on a 1Ghz Dual-core Processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2), sports a 4″ WVGA screen, 8GB of memory, an 8mp rear camera and 1.3mp front camera along with HDMI mirroring for connecting to an HDTV for playback, and it also has the ability to playback and record in 1080p. It’s set to be released in Korea next month with countries in Asia and Europe to follow shortly after. We can’t imagine that a U.S. release is far behind either.
So what’s a gadget obsessed early adopter to do? Grab Google’s flagship Nexus S now, or wait for the LG Optimus 2X to land?
