Her Mother-In-Law Brought Her Husband’s Ex-Wife To Their Wedding As A Plus One
Alright, heads up, because this has to be one of the craziest wedding stories I’ve ever had to tell you about.
A 28-year-old woman first met her 27-year-old husband around 4 years after he had divorced his wife Mindy.
Her husband’s family called Mindy “the love of his life” and it really doesn’t bother her at all that they say or think it.
Her husband has gone to great lengths to insist that Mindy wasn’t exactly the love of his life, and he felt that their marriage was incredibly toxic.
Eventually, the relationship that Mindy and her husband had got so awful, they came to the joint conclusion to walk away from it and each other.
When she came into the picture post-Mindy, her husband’s family really did not accept her. Her mother-in-law particularly didn’t want to get to know her because she was very attached to Mindy.
Mindy eventually moved away because she did not want to live close to her husband, and when that happened, her mother-in-law really struggled.
That’s the level of closeness we’re talking about here between her mother-in-law and Mindy.
It took time, but she did come to get closer to her mother-in-law. It came about after her father-in-law passed away, which destroyed her mother-in-law.

She and her husband really did their best to support her, and she did bounce back when they gave birth to their son. Things are far from perfect with her mother-in-law, but things were good.
After the pandemic hit, she and her husband struggled had to be careful with their money, so they used a bit of her husband’s inheritance from his dad to have a tiny wedding ceremony.
Her mother-in-law wasn’t happy with the tiny ceremony, and she insisted on paying for them to have a bigger one.
She and her husband did accept her generous offer, and they planned a ceremony that still was on the smaller side because they did not want her to feel taken advantage of.
The day of the wedding arrived, and she was shocked to discover that her mother-in-law had Mindy with her.
“…My MIL approached us and we asked her what was happening, she said that she’d invited her to the wedding because it was a special day,” this woman said.
“My husband said that yes, it was a special day for us and that Mindy had no business being there and would appreciate it if she left.”
Her mother-in-law then asked her if she wanted Mindy to leave too, and she had no choice but to tell her that she would feel better if Mindy did leave.
Her mother-in-law was furious, throwing it in their faces that she was the one that had shelled out the money for their wedding, so she had the privilege to invite any person she so chose.
She and her husband agreed that she did have the ability to invite any guest she liked, but Mindy didn’t really count.
The couple also pointed out that she never even brought it up to them before the wedding.
“She said that if Mindy had to go she’ll follow and my husband said ”then do”,” this woman continued.
Her mother-in-law’s threats were empty because she did stay, while her husband asked Mindy to please leave.
“…After the wedding, we offered to pay for half of it or even everything if she wanted but she said that the damage was already done.”
