College roommates are often either hit or miss. And for this woman, it was a total miss.

She has been living with her roommate since November and absolutely hates it. The woman claims that her roommate is annoying and extremely messy.

“She never cleans up after herself and just lets trash accumulate in her room,” the woman explained.

And while she does not care that much about her roommate’s personal space, the roommate also constantly trashes the pair’s common areas– including the living room, kitchen, and bathroom.

The woman has tried to have numerous conversations with her about it, but the roommate never follows through.

She promises to clean in the moment but never actually gets around to it. And the woman is sick of it.

“I am not the type of person that can live in filth, so I clean even after she refuses. It has caused a lot of resentment,” the woman said.

In fact, just a few months ago, the pair got into a screaming argument over the matter. The roommate claimed she would only clean when she felt like it, and the pair have barely spoken since.

That was until a few days ago when the roommate’s mother showed up on their doorstep.

“When my roommate was at work, a woman knocked on our door,” the woman mentioned.

“I opened it, and she looked a lot like my roommate. She then introduced herself as her mom. So, I let her in.”

The mother apparently had a lot of questions about her daughter, though. In particular, if the woman enjoyed living with her daughter.

“I was honest and said no. I told her my reasoning, and she was shocked, then apologized,” the woman said.

Apparently, the mother also opened up about her daughter’s situation.

The mother had been paying her daughter’s rent as long as she stuck to an agreement– the daughter was only to go out on weekends and stay home on work nights.

The mother then asked the woman to confirm if that had been happening, and she was brutally honest again.

“I laughed and said no. I told her mom that she goes out frequently and skips work a lot,” the woman recalled.

“Her mom was very shocked and, soon after, she left.”

Later, the woman was confronted by her furious roommate. The roommate stormed into her room, screaming about how since the woman spilled the beans to her mom, her mom would no longer pay her rent.

And while the woman believed her actions were rightful, she is now considering that she may have overstepped.

“I told my friend about it, and she told me I should have just lied for her and that I was being petty since now my roommate will have to live paycheck to paycheck,” the woman explained.

What do you think? If you were in the woman’s shoes, would you have ratted out your roommate too?
