That day, Lana’s husband saved her life by pulling her out of the water and into their friend’s boat. As soon as she got on board, Lana looked down at her legs and realized both of them were missing.
“Even though it feels like the worst thing that happened to me, I still feel very lucky to be alive. I thought I would die.”
“I’m grateful I will be able to hug and kiss my kids, my husband, my family, and my friends. I will get through this and come out stronger with my new lifestyle,” said Lana on a GoFundMe post.
As soon as the incident occurred, Lana was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she had immediate surgery to repair her initial damage. However, Lana has a very long road to recovery.
While both of them have survived this horrible incident, Lana is left in the hospital with life-altering conditions.
Lana has personally started a GoFundMe in hopes of helping their family with medical bills during this trying time. So far, they have been able to raise $143,880, with a goal of $250,000.
