Her Adoptive Daughter’s Wealthy Grandparents Are Trying To Take Her, But She Doesn’t Want To Give Her Daughter Up Even Though She Would Have Everything She Could Want In Life
A 29-year-old woman has a 4-year-old daughter named Miya, whom she adopted as soon as she was born.
Miya’s biological mom was her very best friend, and sadly, Miya’s mom died in childbirth because of some complications.
Her best friend originally kept her pregnancy a secret from her strict parents, as her best friend knew they would not be ok with her wanting to keep her baby.
“The father was a rich foreigner who did nothing but…spend his parent’s money,” she explained. “He was undoubtedly wealthy, and she was but one of the many girls that had fallen for his good looks and money.”
“The man knew of the pregnancy but did not care as he had an arranged marriage waiting back home and left her. After her passing, her parents have been more accepting towards Miya and occasionally visit with gifts.”
Her best friend’s parents are part of Miya’s life, as are her own parents, and they all help to raise Miya along with her.
She knows her family isn’t conventional by any means, but they are happy together.
Not too long ago, she was shocked to have Miya’s grandparents on her biological father’s side get in touch with her.
Miya’s grandparents had hired a private investigator to track Miya down after they learned that their son’s kids were not actually his own.

So, Miya’s biological father did follow through with his arranged marriage, but his wife cheated on him, so the kids that Miya’s biological father thought were his turned out to not be at all.
She also found out from Miya’s grandparents that Miya’s biological father died 2 years ago, and so Miya’s grandparents really want to adopt her because she’s the only one left in their family.
“Although I can see them providing a much better life for Miya (I am middle class, they are part of the top 0.1% for sure), it just rubs me wrong that they only tried looking for her after their son passed away and cannot produce any more heirs,” she said.
“Blood relationships are very important in their culture, and I do not wish to deny Miya her blood relatives; since I have introduced her to her mother’s side grandparents. But if they were to adopt her, she would have to move to their country, away from me, my parents, and her mother’s side biological grandparents.”
In the meantime, Miya’s grandparents have said that they are willing to buy her, Miya, and the rest of her family plane tickets so they can come to that country to spend time with them. Her own parents and Miya’s grandparents on her mom’s side are all on board with flying Miya out to meet them, but she’s not so sure she should follow through with that offer.
“I have yet to talk to Miya about this, and I don’t know if I should – and whether a 4-year-old should even be making these kinds of decisions,” she continued.
She’s left wondering if it’s wrong of her to keep Miya when her grandparents also want to adopt her. Do you think she should let Miya’s grandparents have her since she’s the only child their family now has?
