When TikToker @chlochlogreen’s mom was 11 years old, she was sent home from the hospital to die, but ended up sneezing out her entire tumor. She had been diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive soft-tissue tumor.
From the ages of eight to 11, she underwent chemotherapy, but around age 11, the doctors told her that the treatments weren’t helping, and there wasn’t much else they could do.
So, @chlochlogreen’s mom went home with her parents. One night, @chlochlogreen’s grandmother was giving her mom a bath when she started choking in the bathtub.
She coughed up an entire mass of tissues. Of course, @chlochlogreen’s grandma freaked out, thinking that it was a part of her brain. She put the mass in a bag and called the doctor immediately.
Since @chlochlogreen’s mom was behaving normally, the doctor told them to come in the morning and bring the mass of tissue with them. The next morning, they drove about an hour to the hospital.
“They do a biopsy of this tissue, and they’re like, this is cancerous tissue,” said @chlochlogreen. “Obviously, they’re really concerned.”
“They end up doing this scan of my mom to figure out where this came from, how it came out. And when they do the scan of my mom, she’s completely cancer-free. She has no more cancer, and the thing they’re holding is the entirety of her cancer.”
Ever since then, @chlochlogreen’s mom has been cancer-free. Today, she is alive, healthy, and has been a nurse for over 20 years. She has four kids, including @chlochlogreen, who is 22 years old.
She doesn’t know all the details about her mom’s cancer story because it was a very traumatic experience. Back in the 1980s and ’90s, cancer treatment wasn’t the same as it is now.

Her mom would receive bone marrow taps and spinal taps while she was fully conscious. She also can’t have spearmint gum because all her medicine was spearmint flavored.
“Miracles happen every day, and my mom is a walking miracle,” said @chlochlogreen. “I just think that’s something that my mom doesn’t get enough credit for. She really did survive a walking miracle.”
In the comments section, many TikTok users praised @chlochlogreen’s mom for her strength and shared their own cancer survivor stories.
“Coughing up the cancer is a miracle, and you’re another miracle, too, because after years of chemo, your mom was still able to have a child. Amazing story…thank you for sharing!” exclaimed one user.
“I had stage four metastatic Ewing’s sarcoma in my ribs and lungs when I was five, had a survival rate of 20%, was cancer-free for two years, and then relapsed when I was eight. I did a year of chemo and have been cancer-free for six years now. Thankful every day,” commented another.
“My daughter had rhabdomyosarcoma on her vocal cords when she was eight. She’s 16 now,” added a third.
