She’s Making Her Niece Complete A Homework Assignment In Order To Attend Her Wedding After Finding Out Her Niece Has Been Bullying Her Nephew
This twenty-three-year-old woman is about to get married to her fiancé in just a few short months. She and her husband-to-be also have very close relationships with their families. So, they wanted to share the romantic moment with everyone.
But, one of her family members has been causing her some serious stress.
She has four siblings– two brothers and two sisters– and her oldest sister has three children. So, she has two nephews, who are fourteen and thirteen, and then a niece, who is eleven.
Her oldest nephew is currently attending a private school that is for gifted children, and her other nephew is also a really intelligent and sweet kid who is learning how to express himself. And it all started with a trip to the mall.
“About a year ago, he was in the mall when he saw a dress. He was with his friends and told them if he were a girl, he would wear it, but didn’t feel like a girl or something along those lines,” she recalled.
Afterward, his friends told him that he did not have to be a girl to wear a dress. Moreover, they urged him to try the dress on and see how he felt.
And after he did, all of his friends were totally hyping him up. Then, after his parents found out, they were totally on board as long as he was happy.
Nowadays, her nephew does not wear dresses normally. Rather, he saves them for special occasions. And what is more special than a wedding?
“Me and my fiancé were fine with [him wearing a dress]. We had no dress code but encouraged colorful dresses and suits– although that was not a requirement,” she explained.

So, her nephew started researching dresses online and found a super cool vintage 1950s dress. His friends thought he looked amazing in it, so he eventually showed her.
And she thought it was simply stunning and could tell just how happy he was wearing it.
But, not everyone in the family was so receptive. In fact, it was actually her eleven-year-old niece who started berating her nephew and the dress.
The niece called it ugly, out of style, and kept questioning why anyone would want to wear it.
Then, her niece started making fun of her nephew on social media. And when she heard about it, she was so disappointed and informed her sister.
Her sister ended up asking if she still wanted her niece to attend the wedding, and, of course, she did. However, she did not want her niece to bully her nephew, so she came up with a sort of “homework assignment.”
“I made her write an apology explaining why what she did was wrong, how she can make amends to my nephew, and promising not to do it again,” she said.
“I also told her she needed to spend quality time with her brother watching vintage fashion videos– which he does for both sports jerseys and dresses.”
But, her niece totally refused. First, her niece complained to her sister– but her sister backed her up and said she had to complete the entire assignment to attend the wedding.
This did not stop her niece, though. Instead, her niece ended up going to her sixty-one-year-old parents, who ultimately made the situation much more complicated.
Her parents believe that she should have just dropped it and let her niece attend the wedding regardless.
In fact, they claimed she was actually rubbing the wedding in her niece’s face.
Still, though, she just thinks her niece is being manipulative and does not want to be held accountable.
Nonetheless, she is not sure if making her niece complete an assignment to attend was the best way to handle the situation.
What would you have done if you found out your niece was bullying your nephew? Do you think the “homework assignment” was a fair punishment?
