She Says She Has The Creamiest And Crispiest Recipe For Oven Baked Mac And Cheese
Honestly, who doesn’t love Macaroni and cheese? It’s the ultimate comfort food and the best side dish on the Thanksgiving table. You can always count on mac and cheese making an appearance at almost any gathering. It’s just that good!
TikToker @moribyan has the perfect recipe for oven-baked mac and cheese. It’s both creamy and crispy at the same time, so you can taste the best of both worlds. Trust me; your tongue will be thanking you.
Let’s get into the recipe!
Ingredients:
-1 pound of elbow macaroni
-Salt
-6 tablespoons of unsalted butter
-3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
TikTok; pictured above is @moribyan’s mac and cheese
-1 tablespoon of minced garlic
-3 3/4 cups of heavy cream
-3 tablespoons of softened cream cheese
-1 1/2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar
-1 cup of shredded Colby Jack
-1/2 cup of shredded smoked Gouda
-2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
-1 1/2 teaspoons of dry mustard powder
-1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
-A pinch of nutmeg
-A pinch of cayenne pepper
Directions:
For prep, mince garlic and shred the three types of cheese. This part might turn into somewhat of an arm workout, but it’ll all be worth it in the end once you produce the finished result.
Afterward, boil a large pot of salted water and add the pasta. While waiting for the pot to boil, start working on the sauce. Melt down the butter in a pan and whisk in the flour.
Once it simmers, add in the heavy cream, garlic, cream cheese, and all the spices. Mix everything together. Next, add in the shredded Colby Jack, Gouda, and sharp cheddar cheese. Your sauce should be smooth and clump-free.
When the pasta is done cooking, drain it and immediately combine it with the sauce. Then, transfer everything to a large baking dish. Let it bake in the oven for fifteen minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally, broil it for a few minutes to get that crispy cheese coating at the top.
You can even sprinkle some chopped parsley or chives on top to give it a little color! Yum!
