He promises he was not trying to make Anna upset; he was only trying to make their conversation at the dinner table less strained.
Right now, Anna is not speaking to him, and she is also not answering any of his text messages. As for Lisa, she’s more upset than he has ever seen her, and Kyle is the sole person who can see how he was trying to be funny.
