Her Cousin Just Got Married, And At The Wedding Her Cousin’s Sister-In-Law Threw Wine On Her Dress, So She Left And Took Back Her Gift Of $1,000 In Cash

This 18-year-old girl is from America, but she recently traveled to Australia to celebrate her 25-year-old cousin A’s wedding.
Her family is Indian, yet her cousin’s new husband’s family is not, so they held 2 different ceremonies, similar to what Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra did when they got married.
For her cousin’s Indian ceremony, she wore something traditional, and for the second ceremony, she picked out a very pretty floral print satin midi dress with a side slit.
Her cousin A is her absolute favorite of all her cousins, and she is the closest to her too.
She wanted to do something very special as a wedding present, so she saved up money from her job in order to be able to gift her cousin $1,000, which she put in a small envelope.
Now, back to the dress that she wore for her cousin’s Australian wedding, the color and print were super close to the traditional outfit she had worn for the Indian ceremony, but when she got to the wedding, she was shocked when her cousin’s in-laws thought differently.
Her cousin’s in-laws actually came up to her to say that they did not think her dress was appropriate for the wedding, and she figured it was because of the side slit.
“…But they all said it looked too pale and unacceptable, even though it was a blush pink with bright, almost neon colors on it,” she explained.
“I said sorry, but I didn’t have another dress suitable enough for a wedding that I could change into, and M’s family (her cousin’s in-laws) seemed mad. I left it at that and went on with my day.”

The ceremony was stunning, and she was thrilled for her cousin and her cousin’s new husband, whom she calls M.
“However, when the wine started flowing at the reception, everything went out of control,” she said. “I was on the dance floor partying it up with family and friends when I felt a splash down my front. I looked down, and I almost freaked out because I thought I got shot or something.”
“There was this huge red wine stain dripping down my front, and I saw M’s sister, mom, and aunt laughing, with M’s sister holding a glass. I saw red, and that’s when I snapped. I started yelling about how they ruined a brand-new dress for a stupid reason.”
“They kept laughing, and I saw A giggle and M grin. That’s when I decided I would leave and take back the check. That’s when they stopped laughing. M started to ask me to stay, and when his fam realized how much money was in the envelope, they started to apologize and talk about how that money could be helpful in this economy. I left because I felt disrespected.”
In light of her leaving the wedding, surprisingly, nobody is on her side. M, M’s entire family, and even her own mom and dad are saying it was poor taste to leave, though they all think so for varying reasons.
Her family expects her to give back the $1,000 wedding gift to A and M, but she is not interested in doing this because she worked hard for that money and doesn’t want to fork it over to nasty people.
“Now I am getting texts, DM’s, and Whatsapp, and my phone is just blowing up,” she continued. “I refuse to talk to A until she gets her husband to apologize, and she is trying. He just won’t.”
She’s left wondering if it was rude of her to not only leave her cousin’s wedding but to take back her expensive wedding present too.
