Her Oldest Daughter Wants To Move Back In With Her And Her Husband, So They Gave Her A List Of Rules To Follow, But She Refused And Started Stirring Up Drama In Their Family

Their rules included Betty paying them $500 in rent every month, which would not only cover utilities but groceries too. If Betty didn’t want to pay rent, she needed to be attending college.

She and Luke also said to Betty that if she picks college, they’re happy to pay for her tuition and her tutors too, but she has to pass all her classes and buckle down.

She and Luke then let Betty know that she has to pitch in around the house and be in charge of cleaning the stove and kitchen counter, cleaning the pool, putting away groceries, and loading as well as unloading the dishwasher.

And finally, she and Luke made it clear to Betty that she is not allowed to have crazy house parties, she is not allowed to do any drugs, and she is not allowed to smoke.

“Betty said she refused to agree to these rules,” she explained. “So we told her okay. That is her choice to make, and it is also our choice to not allow her to move back in.”

“Betty tried to start an argument, but Luke and I weren’t playing along. We told Betty that she is 25 and it’s time for her to grow up. She needs to accept now that this is reality and get used to handling her own adult things.”

Well, Betty then riled up Luke’s family, and they have since accused her and Luke of being terrible. Betty even got one of her friends to reach out to them and say the same.

Luke’s family and Betty’s friends are outraged that they want to charge Betty rent and have her do chores.

These people are also accusing her and Luke of not loving Betty, but that’s not the case at all. She and Luke do love Betty a lot, but Betty is now an adult, and she seriously needs to act like one.

“People aren’t going to fund and enable her to just have fun all the time, even and especially not us,” she continued.

“Luke and I don’t understand how multiple people think this is selfish or unreasonable. So I’m looking for neutral perspectives on here.”
